Dear All,
Warm greetings.
As we enter the Season of Creation 2026, we are invited to contemplate the gift of Living Water, a symbol of God’s grace which regenerates, purifies and sustains every form of life. Water is the first sign of Creation, the cradle of life, the most precious gift that our Common Home receives and which we are called to safeguard.
Care is not an isolated act, but a way of life. Care extends to a wounded Creation, which groans under the weight of pollution, waste and indifference. Every action we take – whether personal, communal or institutional – has an impact on the world that God has entrusted to us.
The water we consume, the energy we use, the waste we produce: all speak to our responsibility as stewards, not as masters.
Living Water reminds us that Creation is not a resource to be exploited, but a gift to be protected. As Camillians, called to serve life where it is most fragile, we are invited to recognise that the fragility of the planet is intimately linked to the fragility of the sick, the poor and the excluded. When water is scarce, when it is contaminated, when it is privatised, it is always the most vulnerable who suffer first.
For this reason, during the Season of Creation, I encourage you to:
- Recognise the value of water as a sacrament of life.
- Review our daily habits to reduce waste and pollution.
- Promote community initiatives that protect Creation.
- Foster a culture of care in our ministries, communities and missions.
Water flows, purifies and transforms. So too must our commitment be: fluid, constant and life-giving. May this Season of Creation help us to become sources of Living Water for the world: capable of bringing life where there is aridity, hope where there is desolation, and care where there is wound.
May the Lord, the source of Living Water, bless our journey. May the Spirit make us faithful custodians of our Common Home. May Saint Camillus accompany us in our service to life, in all its forms.
With fraternal love,
Fr Pedro Tramontin
