CADIS International and its local partner, CTF Philippines, work tirelessly in disaster-prone regions like the Philippines, providing emergency relief and fostering long-term resilience through various projects. While emergency response remains crucial, building community resilience is equally important for sustainable impact.
To sensitize volunteers and expand the pool of supporters in the Asia-Pacific area about CADIS activities, we will gather together in Cebu City, Philippines, from March 17 to 20 for an immersive experience, fostering deeper understanding, building stronger relationships, and securing greater support for CADIS resilience-building initiatives.
25 participants from the Asia-Pacific region will explore issues related to building resilience, the importance of the role of volunteers, and communication strategies to engage as many supporters as possible.
The Philippines is one of the most prone-disaster countries in the world. Several interventions have been implemented and completed by CADIS International, CTF Philippines and other actors. But this is not enough. We need to improve the capacities and knowledge of the population to be resilient in order to face natural calamities and disasters. The workshop and immersion program will be held in CEBU City, Central Visayas region of the Philippines. CADIS has an ongoing project in Cebu with the urban communities at risk of fire and other disasters. On the third day, the participants will visit the area of the project to meet and greet the women beneficiaries and listen to their testimonies on what impact the project has on their lives and their local communities.
CADIS leaders from India, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, and Thailand, along with selected participants from different countries will share their best practices and experiences during the training sessions and workshops.
At this gathering, on March 17, at the conclusion of the first day's work, big news will be announced that will involve all people who care about the mission of CADIS. Stay tuned for updates coming soon.
