The message of fr. Pedro TRAMONTIN, Superior General of the Order of the Ministers of the Infirm (Camillians)

As Season of Creation 2023 opens, we unite as a global family of servants of healthcare to reflect on the extraordinary gift the Creator has bestowed upon us. This year we will unite around the theme "Let Justice and Peace Flow." This time of reflection and action invites us to examine the beauty and fragility of our planet, and to renew our commitment to cherish and protect God's creation.

As members of the Camillian family, our mission to heal and alleviate also extends to caring for our planet, for it is only in a healthy environment that complete healing can take place. Our founder, St. Camillus de Lellis, taught us the importance of serving with love, humility and dedication. In this Season of Creation, we can reflect on how we can extend this love to all that God has created: from the superabundant nature that surrounds us to the people of every place and culture.

The environmental challenges we face require an urgent and collective response. We can commit ourselves to living sustainably, reducing our impact on the environment and promoting climate justice and peace. This is an act of love for God, for our neighbor and for future generations.

In this Season of Creation, let us pray together that our commitment to protect and heal creation is rooted in our Camillian spirituality. May we find inspiration in prayer, reflection and concrete action. May our ongoing service in health care reflect the beauty of God's love for all that is created.

Let us join our voices and actions with those of millions around the world who are rising up to defend the Earth and its creatures. Through our dedication to care and respect for creation, we can contribute to a more equitable, healthy and sustainable world.

Through the intercession of St. Camillus de Lellis, we pray for divine guidance and strength to continue our mission of love and care in this world that God has entrusted to us.
With this message I greet you and bless you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
